A tasty Italian red wine that yours truly has a preference for... Chianti Anyone?
A web log started by two Wine Enthusiasts, synonym for "Winos". Its intent is to log our thoughts and opinions about inexpensive wines available at local grocery and beverage stores. Our hope is to prevent other "Winos" from making the same mistakes we made with our wine purchases.

Renso Masi & C Chianti at Central Market #wine #chianti
While shopping at Central Market, Plano, TX, picked up dinner as well as a bottle of Chianti. This one came in at an affordable $7.99. Red Wine Wino is always looking for a deal as well as has a weakness for Chiantis in general... spent some time in Italy and got hooked on them, jumped at purchasing Renso Masi & C Chianti.
End result... went well with dinner Rib Eye Steaks, Shrimp, and Lobster! Both Winos agreed to purchase again, earning a Good Rating!

Davinci's Chianti - Updated
From a previous post... "The Red Wine Wino has a weakness for Chianti. In this case, Davinci's offering imported from overseas hit the spot. Both Winos agree to buy it again. Rating: Good!"
Not sure but this last bottle we purchased has us wavering on this one. Re-rating it as Neutral. Noticed an aftertaste that had the Red Wino confused. Did notice that the last bottle was from 2009; this one is from 2012. Maybe 2012 was not a good year for this one?

Piccini Chianti
Here is a tasty offering from Piccini. It's a Chianti that gets a Good Rating from both Winos. The Red Wine Wino has a weakness for Chiantis. Good thing the White Wine Wino was around to give it a un-biased rating!

Gabbiano Chianti
Here is one that the Winos have tried in the past. Thought we posted it previously but it looks like that was not the case. This one gets a "Good Rating" from both Winos. Great taste (but there is some bias as the Red Wine Wino does have a weakness for Chianti), strong alcohol content at 13%, and is reasonably priced in our area, going for less than $7.00!

Gattavecchi Chianti Colli Sensesi 2011
Bought this one from a local wine and spirits store. Had not had Chianti in a while. The Red Wine Wino has a weakness for Chianti; it's his favorite red wine.
This Chianti is botttled by Gattavecchi Luca E Gionata S.s in Montepulciano, Italy. It is made from 90% Sangiovese and 10% native red grapes. Label says it is ideal with red meats and fresh and seasoned cheeses.
To the Red Wine Wino, it tastes good all by itself. Both Winos agreed to purchase again in the future, earning it a Good Rating.
Red Wine Wino goes one step further and is ranking the Winos' the Number One Chianti!
