Tried a Nitrogen Margarita! #margaritas

We love our wine, but we sure do like Margaritas, too!. Was out Sunday and stopped at Trinity Groves in Dallas; never been before... glad we did!  Got to try Beto and Son's Nitrogren Margaritas! Tasty!

Ordered the Lime, Mango, and Strawberry. All were good with a consistent and smooth frosty ice. While there, learned about every Wednesday Salsa lessons and dancing can be had... and with the upcoming Cinco de Mayo celebration, the fun ramps up this Thursday into Sunday!

Martinis, Margaritas, Wines

Martinis, Margaritas, Wines and more this round for the Winos. For the wines, tried a House Merlot from a local eatery along with a frozen margarita. Then, chilled with some martinis made with Polar Bear Vodka! Finally, a little sip or two of Sweet Red from Llano Winery and  Castello Del Poggio Moscato.  All was well in the world!

Hot Day But No Worries... Frozen Drinks at the Oasis! @winoswineguide #margaritas

Stopped in Austin on a scorcher of a day. No worries, ordered frozen drinks at the Oasis - restaurant on a hillside that overlooks Lake Travis. Great view with tasty and cold drinks that included Margaritas, Mexican Martinis, and Daiquiris. Good thing we had a designated driver!

This round the Red Wine Wino, White Wine Wino, and Sweet Wine Wino were joined by two others... Sober Cider and Rum Bum, plus our DD.

Let's just say there were many empty glassed this round!

Who Would Have Thought... Frose at the Ballgame! #frose #wine #margaritas

Who would have thought a tasty Frose to be had while watch Major League Baseball! Lucked into this while the Texas Rangers played the Boston Red Sox. Although the Rangers lost, we considered it a win knowing these tasty Frose awaits us next time! Also, their swirl Margaritas are perfect for quenching the Red Wine Wino's thirst... great time, even closed out the day with a bonfire!

Was on an errand to the Bass Pro Shops in Garland. Noticed a Tex Mex Restaurant that caught our eye - Primo's Tex Mex Grille. Sat outside overlooking the lake and had a Margarita or two. This one is the our second choice for the "Winos' Best Tasting Margaritas"!

Cinco De Mayo 2018... So begins the "Winos' Best Tasting Margaritas" Quest! #margaritas #cincodemayo #besttastingmargarita

In celebration of Cinco De Mayo, the Winos opted for working up to May 5 with "Margarita Tastings" in various locations in the DFW Metroplex as well as more "Margarita Tastings" on May 5, and then of course carryover "Margarita Tastings" after May 5.

Intentions were to disregard the local ratings on the Best Tasting Margarita in the area, and using our limited funds, go on a quest for our own best tasting margarita selection. In other words, could we each have a Margarita for less than $20 including tip.

Since everyone has a preference for how a margarita is made and one person may like a margarita and another person thinks differently, the Winos came up with the following criteria for their quest:

• Two Margaritas for less than $20 including tip (restated from above)
• Local to the DFW Metroplex
• Taste... this is a hard one, so we went with both Winos have to agree on taste, else it falls of the list. Note
• Strength... after the second Margarita, do we need an Uber to drive us home?

Also, other limits applied to normalize the tastings:

• There should not be an aftertaste... this is a deal breaker that has shot down Margaritas in the past that were otherwise good.
• Two Margaritas per Wino must be consumed in an hour or less; one Margarita was considered 16oz or less.
• No "large fishbowl" Margaritas if they exceeded 32oz, else one 32oz Margarita was considered two Margaritas.

Below is a sampling of the Winos' Margarita Tastings. It includes other drinks as well but those were consumed after the tasting was completed for a given location. Do check back periodically as we continue on our quest!

The end result of the tastings to date is... Anamia's Tex Mex Restaurant in Plano or Coppell is the "Winos' Best Tasting" Margarita! (As of May 20, 2018)

PS: Primo's Tex Mex Grille in Garland near Bass Pro Shops is our second choice!

Rail Yard in Frisco for Margaritas and Wine! #frisco

More fun in downtown Frisco, TX... this time, checked out the Rail Yard and listened to live music and had a Margarita or two! Also, tried a tasty Malbec from Vinalba Winery. Will be back for more fun times... and again the White Wine Wino will need to sample the Malbec before we can post a rating for it. No worries, always ready for an excuse to return to a spot we liked!

Had Sunday Brunch at Gloria's Restaurant in Garland's Firewheel Shopping Center. Ordered Steak and Eggs, and the had Margaritas and Mango Mimosas with Chips and Bean Dip and Salsa. Tasty, tasty!

Gloria's Margarita and Strawberry Mojito

Dinner the other night at Gloria's. Been some time since we had dinner there. Went with the House Margarita and Strawberry Mojito. Margarita was good, looks like they may have changed back to the mix we like versus the one that had an aftertaste that detracted from it. Strawberry Mojito was sweet and tasty! White Wine Wino will likely order it again!

Papa Lopez Mexican Cantina Margaritas!

Off to Papa Lopez Mexican Cantina for a flight of Margaritas for Happy Hour last week. Both Winos agree to comeback as these are tasty and strong... just the way they like their margaritas!
